Description
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
When going through my Faire files last night, I noticed that this dude, who was one of the outside visitors witnessing the dueling, may have been carrying a sword, leading me to believe that he was a Johnny-come-lately, loner, or interloper to the sword fighting arena. At least he's wearing one of those Keystone Cop hats. He definitely was not one of the group that was fencing. In any case, he was much more elegantly clad and barbered than the sword fighters previously shown.
Sayonara.

Nice catch Harry. Interesting that more visitors weren't in costume too. But yes, he looks to have invested some time and money to looking the part.

Hmm, I wonder if he's trying to decide if there's anyone worth challenging? He is quite well-dressed and tended, so he must be a nobleman of some sort...he looks slightly bemused. Fantastic shot, Harry!

Aha Harry, I am wondering what else he has up his sleeves.

The instructor watching his students?
goodoleboy
Hardly. If he was the instructor he would have been inside the arena and close to his students.

As a people capture, your angle is cinematic and very strong: By capturing him on the same angle as a few people behind him, it's as if everyone behind him are 'leading up' to him; and he is the "climax" of the visual sequence. And he, in fact, stands in climax, staunch, concentrated, and with strong bleaching light on his torso. And he's in the center, so the pic singles him out. A strong portrait, with a coordination of other elements to make it very imposing. Fine street shooting, Harry. A fine 'solo' shot.
