En fait la partie cadran gravé dans la pierre est ancienne (1254), alors que les décorations dorées du bas datent de 1876, comme indiqué en chiffres romains.

Beautiful! The famous sun dial. Thanks for posting this! Now I must sit down and check the different times on the face. Thanks for reminding me of the two ages of the sundial - 1254 and 1876. Keep up the good work. I am really enjoying seeing the Sorbonne again, this time through your camera (I didn't have one when I was studying at the Sorbonne in the late 1960s). :-)
