Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very abstract beautiful result !!!

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

I really enjoyed the other version the best. A slower shutter speed makes cool shots in low light like this.

This is nice but that other is fantastic

I agree, this is fun, but the other is very cool!

Beautiful night shot, Andrea :)

I love the tail light movement in both shots, but I think they both needed the assistance of a tripod/fence/gate to keep the parts of the photo that weren't supposed to be moving crisp.

Rather a luxury for me, twelve kilos of shopping on my shoulders and only one hand free. Pure chance that it all stopped for an ambulance (which I missed!)

Both great captures!!

At least everything is on the move !!

Great shot Andrea :)

I think the full blur works well in this piece, of course it's a matter of personal taste but it adds to the shot rather than takes away. Good to consider a shot with shopping at that time. In many ways it's a better idea than a regular long shutter release shot on a tripod with light tails and sparkle. Have you ever tried painting with light using one of the pre-sets such as fireworks in the scenes menu, in there you have a few choices of shutter speed, can be great fun.

The flickr image makes a superb light abstract. This one shows a great sense of action and urgency even though the cars are stopped. Like a videographer running through the streets during combat.

Lovely, but I wouldn't go out here in the Dark.

Neat capture!

I like the FlickeR version best! I think it is the feeling of motion!
