Description

This is a one of a kind 1919 Pierce Arrow Model 66 A-4 Tourer build especially for silent movie film star Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. Its original cost was $32,000 but it can be yours today for a mere $1,850,000. Fatty Arbuckle was one of the most popular performers of his day from the early 1910's until a scandal involving the rape and manslaughter of actress Virginia Rappe in 1921. He went through three trials; two with hung juries, before finally being acquitted by the third. Despite being found not guilty his films were banned for over a year and he never regained his acclaim and popularity. He died in 1933 in his sleep of a heart attack, at the age of 46. This car is HUGE. The tops of the doors are almost 5ft high.

Very interesting car. The legend of the Arbuckle incident happened at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and supposedly both him and Virginia's spirits haunt the hotel. Glad to see you're still posting.

Well, at least that's what rumor says, I don't know for sure, but it's a old Hollywood spook story.

Haven't been out and about shooting as much lately, so posting has slowed down, but I still check in to see the fantastic works some of the other photographers are doing.
