Description
Dale Chihuly is known for his sculptures made from blown glass. This installation is typical of his work and is found in Berkeley Square, Mayfair. It consists of 1573 hand-blown glass elements weighing 2000 kilos, which as the name indicates, all come together to represent the sun.
Dale Chihuly's work always impresses me, and this installation made for a stark anomaly in constrast to it's immediate surroundings - once you spot it you notice it and gravitate towards it. This was also illuminated at night, but sadly I didn't get the opportunity to take photos. This work was installed in April to remain until December so as of writing this it may or may no-longer be there. However, he does have another installation which can be seen in the Foyer of the V&A if you want to see his work.
Many thanks for viewing!!!

We have one of those here too, but I didn't know it was supposed to be the sun; I suppose if I had thought about it it would be clear, but I didn't. DOH! Lovely capture, his work is so fascinating!
