My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I'm used to seeing green cacti, so these brown tones give them a whole different look. It seems to soften them & make them less threatening - though I still wouldn't get any closer to those razor sharp needles...

Beautifully (and I hope carefully) taken! Love the view of the different species and the golden light on those points!

zoomed, this comes alive even more. The deep shadows really do set off the needles and the grooves. (I was gonna say "the fluting" but that's an architectural term!) And all that scraggly brush around it, with the tentacles reaching out to the sky. You caught them well, as if they were beings reaching for something beyond the frame. With deep shadow and a late-day feel to the highlights, and your reddish browns, a shot of mystery and primal lines and forms. A primal scrubby prickly subject which you turned into a very sweet photo... ( I started with the pic after this, and then went back to this...not earth-shattering, but it's not my usual style when I'm going chronologically...)
