Description
While I was out shooting mushrooms, I noticed interesting patterns on the madrone trees from the previous night's rainfall. Madrones are one of my favorite trees to photograph anyway & the water patterns are an added bonus.
My next post will be another version of this same image...

Quite animal like!

Yes, ala andrea, quite animal like. It looks like a limb. But it's clearly a tree, and yes those dripping water lines are wonderful. Like it's on a spit being basted for a meal. We can see the madrone red, underneath; otherwise it's a big orange-y tan color, almost like cooked pork. Your composition puts the leaves on top and space below---it's suspended there, a nice effect. Although there are a few background branches underneath the limb, which makes the limb look like it's 'walking'...An imposing capture, and the up-close color and water-stains really make it look edible. ("I'll be right in---I'm basting the tree!") I saw the following shot, so I see you really communed with this branch's power...

This is so pretty! The texture of the bark is so smooth, and everything on it shows so well. What a great scene and excellent capture.

Excellent patterns from the rain and also the peeling bark under the branch!
