Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Oh it's a lovely portrait, Andrea, you caught her professional, forthright, and looking very kind. The kind of solicitor you want, esp for something as personal as a will. A really positive straight-forward portrait, with Alison working but looking very engaging. And her form---in that beautiful blouse---is so nice against those imposing law books. My father had law books in the basement, and they were so old I was sure they were used for the Magna freakin' Carta...but once you've seen those spines, you never forget them: No other books in the world have spines like law books. Well, point is, they make a good backdrop to this beaming lady. A really loving portrait, not too common in shots of lawyers and legal people, and very sunny indeed. (On wills, I'm doing one too. You know Shakespeare's sonnet on wills? With a famous line? So thou, being rich in Will, add to thy Will One will of mine, to make thy large Will more. Scholars believe that last "Will" is shakepeare's "willy"---I'll let you do the translation---which just shows that ol' William had a pretty racy mind. Not the first thing you wanna think about when doing wills, but when your Shakespeare, you don't have to apologize...)

You did remember the part where you said I could have the house? Hehe! Yes I agree, best to have it right, there are so many contesting these days that it's farcical, a good stable will and testament by a good Lawyer, that's the way forward. Not that I want you to ever need to use it for a good while yet. She is lovely BTW.

Very good portrait good idea about updating the will and such

Aw, so sweet of you to leave me your house, LOL! She looks a very competent and nice lady, great candid shot!

It's so good to get that done, isn't it? We had our wills done before we left last fall on our long road trip. It seemed like the perfect time to get it all straightened out. The guy who did the work for us (they're called an attorney over here) was very calm and laid back, very informal, but explained everything quite clearly and to our satisfaction. Alison looks like she knows exactly what she's doing, and is just the right person for you to deal with! What a joy to find a professional person you like!

With that pretty blouse Alison looks very un-lawyerly which I find curiously comforting. This is a lovely portrait. My father used to say his will would only have one sentence; "Being of sound mind and body I spent every penny before I died."

Everyone should make a will, after all death don't call and make an appointment. I find it gives me peace of mind but also, I'm glad knowing my things will go to those in my family who have helped me and will enjoy them after I'm gone. That being said I hope I get another ten or more years, it will take me that long to figure out lightwave. :)

a lovely portrait !

Wonderful portrait of this pleasant looking lady. Much more pleasant than any lawyers I have so far encountered.

She looks like a very kind lady. Beautiful too. In all a lovely portrait :)

I have a great lawyer too.

She seems very kindly and almost certainly the perfect solicitor to have conducting will business... such things allow for peace of mind. Amazing how many people don't have will's not even a letter of requirement. Great shot.

I would swap with you on a moments notice. My guy is a retired judge and complicates each and every change. The results are perfect but the process to get there are labyrinth of decisions!
