Very beautiful capture Andrea. Darkening the background really helps the flower jump off the page.

Oh, a real beauty of a flower shot, Andrea. The dark tones all around it really bring home the 'miracle' of sunshine in one spot. And, when zoomed, we can see the pocks and (I assume) water-drops on the petals. And that brittle autumnal stamen area...A big bold, lit-up flower shot, and the greens in the immediate area---underneath and around the flower---are so nicely brought forward by you. Really fine work on this flower, hamming it up for you. (Did it call you "dahhhling"? Did it ask you to peel it a grape?) The serrated edges of the leaves are wonderful too. Love it.

December in England. The only time I've seen England was at 35,000 feet and it was covered in snow. The care you show your flower children is repaid with gorgeous displays like this. A beautiful close up.

Oh wow. Gorgeous light, and a fabulous bloom! It looks so ... alive! We're having lovely weather here too, but that's rather the whole point. :P
