Description
my lab was talking me for a walk in the woods when we came upon this hive that had blown off of a tree. I opened it up and saw this poor creature who failed to get a good start in life..

A rare image of a rare subset of a common event. What an excellent composition. Fine control of focus clearly separates subject from background. But there is just enough clarity that you can see the combs of the hive. The insect is right on the lower third power position and looks like it was trying to move into the upper thirds negative space.
