Description
this morning while out for a walk with my lab, she went fussing into the leaves. I jumped backwards, spilled my coffee, and used my coffee cup to imprison this Japanese Hornet. He must be about an inch and one half or three quarters in length. He's BIG.
These guys have a mean sting, and are bee killers. I put him in a jar and took a quick picture of him making an exit. I've since recaptured him and am wondering how I might get a proper stack of him. He might get iced. I haven't decided yet...

Amazing creature and amazing capture. I'm really freaked out over his/her eyes. Looks like a mesh under a transparent film.. AWESOME!!!

Absolutely amazing macro capture.

Your skills as a macrophotographer are clearly evident as you got this sucker's face in good focus despite this being a single shot...though I imagine this is the best of a few to several goes. I doubt the eyes would have shown a lot of detail anyways, but I could be wrong. I would bet it packs a mean bite as well as a sting - those jaws look like steel and I bet they are relatively as strong. Looking forward to what you achieve with a stacked set.

Very nice. Especially the depth in a macro. I thought this was a stack already.
