Description

First of two lichen photos today, both taken around my house. This one is on a rickety fence that runs along my driveway... Please zoom.

O! It's an O! (Sorry. I can't help it.) That gives you X and O next to each other, which must be hugs and kisses for the holiday. Either that, or this is a gorgeous photograph of lichen on your fence. The variety is spectacular!

lol, I'll go with the 'wreath' interpretation (above)---it's an O, yes, but iI don't think this was your first entry into the "alphabet" series. And the X-O---I like that! Anyway, a scintillating capture of the many lights and "blades" of lichen; and the lighter portions---the off white portions---make this a very complex spread. The "O" is off to one side, which gives real variety to the composition---you do that alot, and I like it every time. And I love the fence back there, brought out so the fence is like a river underneath. Another popping nature shot from you, this one in mainly greens (there's a surprise orange in there, to the right), and another pop-off-the-page image from you.

Amazing find! Even though you didn't have to go far! You must live in a high rainfall area if mosses grow so well on the verticals!
