Description

Captured 12/25/12, early morning, adjacent to the local I-5 Freeway widening project, not far from home. Apparently, the soil had not dried completely from our recent rains a few weeks ago, so it was still a bit moist and mushy at this particular spot. Otherwise, most of the surrounding ground was relatively hard, leaving me carte blanche to snap a ton of equipment tracks in the area. No doubt about it.....I post the dirtiest pictures on Renderosity. Have a nice day.

Dirty photos, LOL! Well, you crafty and crusty fellow, these are excellent captures of someone's footprints for posterity, preserved in the cooler magma of construction site mud. Great texture and light/shadow work, Harry!

After this went up, I looked for footprints where I live, but found none. (The beach has them, but it's so heavily traveled that they go away in an hour.) I just wanted to capture something like this. A wonderful job with that bleached morning light, and the patterns in the dirt. The unfettered dirt is so smooth in these captures, it's almost like they're glazed. And the two foot prints---one obviously heavier than the other---have wonderful shadowplay and sandy highlights. Another "impressions in the dirt" shot from you which explores light and dark and pattern for all they're worth. Near abstractions, except there isn't a person alive today who wouldn't recognize those as shoes. And you got the light on the smooth dirt, showing off that 'glazed surface' feeling. A gritty beautiful duo.
