Description
This is the other end of the Rogue River Gorge from my last post. You can see the basalt lava formations very clearly here. The sky was a bland light gray, so i added one with a little bit of blue in it to brighten up the shot a little...

First, I like when you do 'series' like this, exploring a theme or technique or whatever, across two or more pics. It's great to see the contrasts. Your added sky looks seamless to me, down to the little nooks and crannies in the tree tops (I mean the little spots of light, once we move 'into' the trees---that's never fun to do and either you did it seamlessly or else you were lucky enough to have that color there to begin with). The tone and feel of the lava formations is visceral, with a jaundiced hue, making it feel like it was spewed forth, which it was. And the angle is inclusive, as is the previous shot's angle, giving views of several layers of nature here. More fine work from you, Claude.

Bland light grey skies are the norm here, I don't even notice them anymore. You did an excellent job with this, I would never have known you replaced the sky. Another beautiful capture, the rocks have such wonderful shapes! Bet the water was cold...

Well the manipulation isn't obvious at all, so great job. You live in a wonderful part of the world!
