It looks like the sky is on fire! How incredibly lovely! I always see things I want to shoot when I'm driving, and there's NEVER anyplace to park and capture them. It's one of the biggest frustrations in my life. Happy new year to you and your loved ones, Claude!

Good fortune made you stop and snap this beautiful photo of the tree line contrasted against the multicolored sky.

Oh, I bet Arlene was thrilled to have TWO of you wanting to stop every five feet to take a picture! LOL! Give her our best, will you? We think of you both often. This was worth the stop ... wow ... gorgeous!!

Lol Tara and Denise. I know the bit about not being able to stop. And as for your wife (Arlene?) having to stop for TWO photographers, I get that too---assuming Arlene's not a photographer. When Tara and Marilyn (beachzz) came here, and met with me, Chip (chipka), Corey (CoreyBlack) and some others, I was the only one without a camera, as I hadn't taken it up yet. (I'd done darkroom work years back, but not photographing per se.) So I had to stop every mini-second while everyone in the group shot, shot, shot. Tara, in particular, snuggled under bushes and behind whatever, and there were long spans where no one knew what happened to her. Then, poof: She'd appear, crawling out from under a rock, smiling. Marilyn was 2 miles ahead, shooting away without a care. Others got stuck on one sight---and this was chicago btw, not the immense vistas you have---and be lost to the group for 10 minutes or more, just stuck at a boat or a shadow or whatever. And I---the foreigner---walked around like I were the only one in the group who couldn't speak English; watching these madmen-and-women stop, shoot, stop, shoot, and wondering what in the world was WRONG with them! Then I had to watch them come back to Tara and Marilyn's hotel room, get out their laptops, and postwork for half an hour---in silence, as I stared at their monitors---and then post on RR. If anything got me to get a camera, it was that. So I can imagine what Arlene or anyone else who isn't photographing must feel as you and whoever stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. There should be a website for the non-photographer, where they can share their feelings of abandonment and confoundment... Ok, now the pic. It looks like a forest fire. Good eye to catch this. The low light down there sets the trees aflame. And I like the amount of land in front of the trees, it grounds the shot and makes the 'fire' stand out more. Really fiery shot. And a nice companion to the last shot too (different, but still, trees transformed by light). Luminous work with light and silhouette. Fiery and eye popping.
