Description

Towards the end of our afternoon at the Rogue River Gorge, I saw a glimpse of the setting sun illuminating a swath of trees in the distance, turning them to a golden yellow-orange... Please zoom.

Major layers of color-families, and beautiful contrasts between them. The blues in the background, topped off by that creamy aqua blue, next to those golden yellow trees, over the darker then lighter greens, etc, make this a big layered painting...framed on both sides by tree-silhouettes in the foreground. A majestic capture, and you give us a ground in what appears to be a log (at bottom). The layering is very powerful. I'd love to see it stretched out twice this length; but then I'd love to actually be there. Very alive and magical.
