Description
Captured 12/29/14, very early in the am, this time with it sitting on the floor. I also snapped pics of it on my bed. The sun wasn't exactly where I wanted it because the condo rooftops across the way blocked it before it cleared its way to cast any bright sunlight into my bedroom. Incidentally, the shadow reminds me of a pair of slippers. I took a total of 90 shots, employing various POVs over a two day period, in the process. And, please, no time-worn "less is more" adages.
Have a nice day today and Happy New Year tomorrow.

I see the slippers too, ballet slippers; I love the little arcs of refracted colours in the reflection of the lenses. What a very cool subject, I've never even thought about something like this! You did it proud, wonderful work Harry!

(The rating button isn't working again! Every 6th image or so, it just sits there. Won't budge. Well, this is 5 stars, so you know...) These shadow shots in your home are terrific. I don't know how you get bed sheets, table tops, frame backs, etc, to look how they look in these shots. These surfaces are so sheer they're other worldly. But the object and shadow are the thing, and this is a terrific pair. I love how you capture the glasses so we only see a little of the actual glass; it's mostly frame. Aerial view. And those shadows are wonderful and looming. And yes they look like slippers (ballet slippers, as Denise says). In each shot, one of the two slippers has light beaming; and the bifocal part is terrific, in shadow. The light is so bleached and strong, it makes the shadows pop out. And the grain---or whatever the directional lines are on the floor---is running perpendicular to the glasses and their shadow: a perfect touch. A terrific abstract capture. And while it's minimalist, it's very rich. Terrific work. I love it!
