Description
Taken on a walk with friends around Applegate Lake on the Da-Ku-Be-Te-De trail (named after a small band of Indians who used to live in the Applegate Valley). The lake was pretty low, so the striated banks were in clear view & had a light dusting of snow in some areas. I liked the shape of the reflected shadows here...

The striated rocks are amazing, and the light!!! Wow, so much to see in this wonderful shot! Well done!

The shadow of the trees is amazing. That zigzag of light and shadow, along with the reflection, is great! It's almost textural, even though it's "only" shadows and reflections. Nice!

I ditto again. I cannot express any better what others have already stated. :)

Beautiful image. What happened to the Indians, were they relocated or dd they perish?

It's pretty much the same sad story as we've heard many times - settlers took their land & drove them off after many violent confrontations. Those that survived were relocated to reservations.

Lovely photo half in sunshine and half in shadow. I like the reflection also!
