My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Wonderful Capture!!!

interesting capture never seen the expression in that portrait before, almost sultry

Well done - very nice still life.

Nicely captured, Tara. The picture seems to me to be contemporary. I was puzzled by the sculpture at first. The little plaque says Charmeuse, which is a soft, silky dress fabric. A little investigation revealed that the word is also French for Charmer. The young lady certainly fits the definition.

Looks to me like the statue is a carefree spirit & the woman in the picture frame is looking at her with moral indignation. A fine shot that I would have instantly recognized as yours...

I really like the contrast between the statue and the painting - a wonderful shot, Tara! Gorgeous light on this little scene.

Very very very beautiful composition !!!!

The comments are often so revealing about the writers! I disagree with Claude about the portrait : I see the girl as a strong intelligent seductress.

This is a great pic for the 'Challenge' on the letter 'F'.

HA I think the lady in the portrait looks a bit spooky, the way she is frowning to the watcher. But in all it is a very beautiful and interesting capture.

A beautiful collection of ladies and lady-things (flowers, soft light, ornate carving); sensitive capture!

Yes, the standing lady does look like a subtle charmer, and your composition brings her into direct communion with that pillar behind her---all in gold, with the circular ornament (a stylized flower) seeming to grow right out of her legs, and with that portrait which, yes, seems either disapproving of the charmeuse, or a seductress, ala Andrea's comment. The striking part is the deep dark of that photograph's frame, contrasted with the high-key yellow of the background and with the gold pillar. The shot is a strong contrast between deep darks and bright lights, with a pleasing carmel-orange at the bottom. And the flowers on the far right are a perfect frame. Very cloistered and very active, and intimate too. A very intimate vision.
