Description
Seemingly trying to ignore each other. They look so snobbish.
Captured 10/17/14, within the usually congenial confines of my condominium complex.
Have a significantly nice day.

Super shot of these pointy gregarious beauties Harry; I also seem to recall that they were ubiquitous in my Southern California youth, so much so that eventually you don't even notice them. It's nice to regain respect for their outrageous exotic shapes and colours! Well done!

Yes, I like Denise's comment "outrageous exotic shapes and colors". They do look snobbish (as you say). They look like a bunch of flowers trying to outdo the other for "air time". (Sure this isn't Hollywood?) They're like big beaked birds with outlandish head-dresses. And while they're all emanating from the center of the shot, the bushes in the background hold down that center, and the two sides balance it out. Such hue contrasts too, with those deep green leaves below, against those deep oranges and pinks and purples above. An organized shot, but still wild: You captured the thrusting assertive nature of these flowers very well. A real collision, in a way. I really like the energy of this shot. We have nothing like these, in Chicago, and when you get your eye on them, they look even more exotic than they would otherwise. Fine job.
