Description
Captured 1/6/15, circa 7:20 am, not too far from home.
On my way to Walmart I just happened to notice that the sun was hanging low and almost centered exactly above the tracks at the moment I was crossing them, so I took the opportunity to snap these old railroad guys again for the umpteenth time, hopefully for stunning dramatic effects. Definitely a ZOOM job. In any case, this is the time of the year for such solar events. BTW, don't try this at home.
Have a sumptuously nice day.

That's an impressive photo. The sun must have been at the perfect angle to create that effect. Very cool!

That brilliant low sun really emphasizes the texture of the wood on the tracks...what a fantastic shot! I would be tempted to fade out everything but the sun and the tracks, making a high-key "railroad to heaven" sort of image. Superb work, Harry!

I like the detail captured here in this photo. Its also interesting to know that you just "follow the tracks" to your local Walmart...Just kidding.

Only a dedicated photographer would understand stopping everything you're doing because the sun is about to wipe out a pair of RR tracks. Love this shot. I assume you were looking in an LCD screen (because a viewfinder would be hard on your eyes). The sun's great, as it eats up the back end of these tracks, and illumines the ties in front, and makes all the pebbles throw tons of small shadows. We've seen this view before---the backs of those same building, and the wall---but each time they take on a different personality. And the thing is, they seem to be ignoring this huge event, they have their 'backs' to it: Ie, to the descent of the sun right onto the tracks, and its obliteration of everything in front of it. THAT'S what's important here, not what's going on in those stores. A golden tinged vision of tracks and the land around it. Great that you got this shot. (And, on the bottom, there's a small portion of a flare circle!) Terrific shot in this terrific series.
