Description
Captured 6/8/12, on the west side of beautiful Rynerson Park, in beautiful South Lakewood, California.
No big deal here; the bridge merely spanned a dry shallow gulley, so there was no lake or river to enbellish the image.

this little bridge is very original !!!

Lovely lines of shadow on the bridge deck, merging into the more amorphous tree shadow further along. I wonder if the dry gully collects rainwater (well, if you ever get any, that is) and becomes a rushing creek? Excellent capture, Harry!

the lack of a river lets us concentrate on the bridge itself, and you caught the decay, soot, strange paint globs, rust, etc of this old dignified beast, like an old barn that won't budge because it's seen everything and isn't going anywhere. Very sweet shadow-and-light play, and I like how it all recedes into shadow as we go back. The railing-tops are lined up with each other, and are also parallel with the top frame of the photo. This helps ground them, because the bridge is really in motion. You've composed this shot really well, Harry. A sunny inviting bridge shot, with a sense of quiet repose (because of the shadows), and lots of detail and even cobwebs---they look like cobwebs---on the bridges' railings. A very inviting restful capture. I'm almost at an hour now, and I've only done---god, 5 shots! (I just looked.) When I've been away, I move like a snail! But in your gallery, that's also because of the time I take with each shot. I'll do one more tonight, and I'll be back for a longer session soon...(I'll actually go over an hour, even though the number of comments doesn't reflect that!)
