Description
I've posted several photos of this church before - it's the First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. I took this with a substantial zoom from a hiking trail in the hills above Jacksonville. I postworked out a pickup truck, some stray branches & electrical wires that were cluttering this view...

I'm at an hour and a half now, so I'll stop. But one more from the older-recents...one can feel 'zoom' in this, from the strange flattening of space. And you've turned it into an intimate 'glimpse', with the facade of that church busting through the shadows up front. It has a 19th C. wall-painting feel to it, something of a fairy tale peek into that church. That silhouetted sinewy growth in front (the branches, leaves in black, etc) gives a lacy opening to the church in back, which dominates the scene over a long, deeper background. A whole town presented as back-and-fore-drop to that church...Claude, your commitment is stunning, even with pieces you struggle with or redo. One is always getting your soul in your uploads. This feels like a reach back into a previous century, with the allure of an old place that's a rock to the town it's in. It doesn't matter that it's a church, it just feels like a center...Fine work again. And btw, I'm doing less and less faving because I just plain forget...but all of these are wonderful to me.

Spectacular details considering the use of a long lens from a distance. I like the elevated POV that you took this photo!
