Description
I posted a photo of a statue a few days ago without knowing for sure who it represented. Several people were convinced it was St. Francis & SunriseGirl actually went the extra mile to research & confirm it, for which I thank her. This is a closeup view of it. Considering that it was dedicated in 1988, it seems to be awfully cracked & worn - though I think that gives it character...

There is a fashion for prestressed stuff at the moment, same as ripped jeans and per worn designer trainers! Weird!

He is starting to grow a green wig, which might be rather attractive!

:) I could not help myself (see comment on , "A Warm Glow") I am so easily addicted to all the wonderful creative and simply beautiful photography I get to see here. And I love the info included with the photos. Thanks for sharing your talent. I ditto DBB's remark...prestressed is in vogue. :)

I think I was the first to say that this was St Francis so 'chuffed' that SunriseGirl has confirmed it. This is a super close up and I love all the textures.

Nice capture....

Great photo work on this upload of St Francis of Assisi. Can't believe it deteriorated to this extent since 1988. He really looks scary in this motif. What did they use for the sculpture material anyway? In any event, I don't like prestressed stuff in any form.

I love his slight layer of lichen; it suits him! Wonderful closeup of this statue.

The moss and textures make it look hundreds of years old. A perfect example of a zoom worthy photo!
