This male House Finch was sitting on my deck railing singing on an early Spring day.

Thanks, blinkings. I also had never seen a House Finch before this one landed on my deck railing. Previous to this, the only finches I had seen were the yellow variety.

Thanks, Juliette. Until this finch landed on my deck, I didn't know that we had finches in these colors, either. The only ones I had seen previous to this one were yellow finches. After taking this photo, I had to google the bird's description to find out its species. :-D
