My name is Ruth.  I've recently returned to my photography hobby after a many years hiatus when life got really busy for me between kids and work. Now that I'm retired and my kids are adults, I've been able to spend more time on my photography hobby. With all of the advances in camera and photography technology, I consider myself a relative newbie.  I started out many years ago using 35 mm film cameras, then switched to a Casio compact (pocket sized) digital. With more time to pursue my photography hobby, I bought a more advanced digital camera, a point and shoot (Canon SX 50 HS) with many features that have so far well suited my needs. 
My particular photography interests are nature, macro, and landscape.  By joining Renderosity, I'm hoping to get some constructive criticism on my photos which will help me to improve my photography skills. I'm also looking forward to learning from other members and from any tutorials  that are posted at this site.
