Description

This oak leaf had fallen off a neighbor's tree and landed upright in my backyard in the snow. The sunshine not only caught the sparkle of the snow surrounding this lone oak leaf, but also allowed the leaf's shadow to be cast on the snow.

very beautiful subject and capture. the setting/rising sun does wonders for photography

Thanks, Richard. This photo was actually taken midday. The sun kept peeping in and out of clouds and I had to wait for the perfect moment when the sun emerged from behind a cloud and allowed for the leaf's shadow to be cast on the snow. These sorts of shots doe take some waiting and patience, but are well worth the wait for Mother Nature to cooperate.
