Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Love these 2 splash photos. You captured well the power and "splashiness" to be found when ocean meets rock and beach. Thanks for sharing.

Terrific capture of the ocean in a state of anthropomorphic anger, Marilyn. Those big rocks are imposing.

I'd hate to be the surfer that wiped out near those rocks! Great capture

Big crashing waves, for certain! I love the exhilarating feeling here!

These two splash shots are terrific. I know all about splash shots, and how many shots you have to take to get a few that work---though, knowing your innate timing, you may have gotten these first shot out of the box. In any case, the waves are in big 'sheets'; and parts of them---on top of the rocks---are like big fluttering veils. So many textures going on. And the darker wave behind---with its white "tassels" on top (those white silken sprays on top)---make a perfect contrast to the waves in front of it. A perfect wave capture. And the foamy water upfront is a fine frame to the whole. You know water so well, you take to these sights instantaneously. I love it.
