I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Fantastic shot Carin. The Eland make this shot. Great composition too my dear.

BTW On your own is great because there is no one to say "let's go now" or "I have had enough" etc

Ron - you are quite right - that is why I'm looking at buying a 4X4 vehicle. I only need one of the "lighter" cross-over 4X4's - so I can go completely on my own for three weeks without having to worry or report to anyone else! :)

You are a brave woman, but it pays off!

That must have been scarey. Super pic Xx

Great shot but not something you want to be caught in the open with.

A great catch and lovely pinkish color. Much prettier than the one I saw in Monument Valley. Still, I don't think the animals liked it very much. I did not know you could go off on your own in these parks. Worth looking into.

Fabulous capture, Carin! it would be daunting to see one of these coming up out of nowhere!

A first class shot Carin and really made by the two animals. You were very brave to go out there and face all the elements.

Argh! I would never dare riding to such places on my own. Hope you can keep in touch with the family by cellphone or something. A wonderful photo indeed.

A beautiful capture.

I would worry a bit going out all alone; but then I don't know my way around there, do I? I'm sure you know what you're doing. And what a stunning capture you got!

Great capture Carin. I still have my 500mm lens and haven't used it yet. Your dust storms look like our dust storms. The thing around here is, don't get caught driving on the road. It usually results in massive accidents, often with multiple casualties.

Love the Oryx you caught as well, nice shot.. Well done Rob

Not for me to say but you need to be careful out there. Also a fantastic photo!
