My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Glad you are mainly ok! I should enjoy this reenactment!

Very good idea and realization !!!!

It's good to hear you're doing OK, vision issues aside. It's also great to see this photo! Such orderly soldiers, doing that soldier thing, even if they're replica soldiers made out of plastic/resin. This is really well done, and like Andrea, I'd love to see the reenactment. On another note, did you know that duct tape is amazingly useful in diorama building. Who knew that you could get so many variations of hull plating from...duct tape? (that last bit was only vaguely related to this post.)

Nice POV & DOF. I was never really into miniature figures as a kid (all I can remember is a few plastic cowboys & indians), but my cousin in France had a collection of colorful military figures that somewhat resembled these. Sorry to hear about your vision & connectivity issues - hope they both clear up soon...

Man I am sort of good. Immediately thought of British soldiers but had the wrong century. When I was a boy I had World War II figures. I like the setup here. Great shot. I do hope your problems are short lived.

Wonderful Capture!!! Love your work!!

Great capture Tara! I hope the vision issues work out okay for you. I'm thinking of the Coin toss routine where the British have to wear bright read coats and march in a straight line while the colonists get to wear anything they wanted and hide behind the trees and bushes (revolutionary War.).

A fun and as always lovely shot, Tara! Hope the vision issues clear up soon for you, my dear friend. I think I may need to get this cataract in my right eye taken care of soon... :-P

How very cool! I'll bet you spent a lot of time photographing all the views from different angles here...

You poor Dear ! so sorry to read about those vision problems, it's been hanging around for while now, right ? - it seems sometimes better and sometimes worse. Especially when you are posting some amazing images here ... and than we know - all is OK ... no need to say anymore ! I truly wish you a good recovery Tara, all around (even the with the ol' PC) and thank heavens for a wonderful husband, who takes extra care of you at times like this ... I remember, when you both gave me a leaning shoulder, for support, when I had my eye ops. - almost forgotten by now and I do hope yours will get better too, with every passing day. BTW - my son Jeff has got a great collection of these figurines and used to paint those little details with amazing patience and a very steady hand ... after all, that is also real life - more of a hobby, but for many to enjoy! ;)) Take care, BB

Nice to see all the wishes, and I second them of course. I hope your eye matters clear up, heal, get better. Along with the internet problems (which are amazingly persistent this winter). (I left a bunch of comments today, but you can see them whenever you wish.) I do hope it all heals... As for the shot, a strong front row contrasted with the out-of-focus background of horse and rider. And fascinating light and shadow. (I'm amazed you can do these types of shots if your eyes are having problems. This takes a good deal of concentration!) The big light on the left opens the shot up, and the angle makes us feel we're observing from a low stadium perch. You made it feel like this is a big area, even though it's small. Also, those helmets look like the tops of sundaes! Sweet airy shot, with shadow and a feeling of space, all in a miniature environment. And I like the crop alot too. I wish you all the best. And Bill too. Come back only when it's right for you---I hope you're both enjoying yourselves!

Great shot Tara. I am glad I am not the only one that is not really motivated, but in my case for different reasons. The weather has been really nice lately, and there are so many other things to do.
