This time (usual mixed technique of mine.. with adding of the slightly filtering in Painter to equalize the structure) I tried to focuse on the water.. (In Flowers and Sky the Sky was bad, so in Empty Beach focuse on that, but left the water not that carefully made.. so this time I have decided especially to work on that... Next time? Probably against sky since this one... :P).
It took me.. well, you see from the sketch, almost two months to colour this, and again is just a memory of my holidays, this year deeply linked with will of painting after many many years. I think it's merit of this community, so in a way, this is an homage to all here who have given me great vibes so far :)

Meli, I love your work. I hope someday to achieve this too with traditional media. For this image, so masterfully done, the lack of "drama" is what appeals to me... I can let my imagination get lost in there and just relax. Really beautiful.

When I step back and view this one, I love how the clouds, though realistically rendered, have an unnatural feel that frames the lower half of the painting. It's like a half circle which brings my eye back to the front of the image and doesn't allow me travel out over the trees. It keeps the sky from being just a great expanse of space, and keeps me focused towards the center of the painting.(works for me anyway) Thanks for sharing.

Hey, I just showed some of the other artists here on campus your work, including this one and empty beach, and all of them are excited about them. In your paintings, much more so than in your drawings, you treat the edge of the page with a Matisse like quality, the triangles in this one for instance, and yet, with that you maintain this Cezanne like geometry to it. It's great!!!
