Hot off the press! Captured 1/24/15, looking into the sun this very early morning, at one of my favorite locales for such matters.
Original on top, with the main track on the left, the spur on the right.
Again, these are just blind compositions when looking into the sun. Luck plays a major role in these challenging ventures.
Ciao.

Wonderful shot and variations, Harry; I am especially drawn to the last one, in its fractalius-like expression and dreamy colours. And I love that purple lens flare in the original. Well done, my friend!

Before picking up where I left off (ie, in sequential order), a couple of remarks. 1) Denise changed her avatar (!!!), and now I have to look twice in order to "root" myself, as I often do with her comments, here. This always takes getting use to, lol. 2) You always tell us which the original is (in your montages), which of course is courteous, and helps ground us. But I'd add, if any other OTHER images were the original here, LA would be in BIG trouble, and I'd suggest gettin' outa Dodge as fast as you can! (If you told us, for example, that image 3 was the original, I'd say move to Arizona FAST! Like tonight!) Ok, onto the montage, which I love... I really like the first shot; and, with Denise, I love the flare. I know these are partly accidental because of the sun, but your composition and light are present in pics where there is no accident, so I'd say that your eye is still at work here, even if handicapped. In any case, you have rr track shots under your belt, and this is another long tapering shot of them with light consuming the end of the road, and with lots of detail in the rocks and ties. And those walled "sides" on either side: There could be homes back there, or colorful stores, etc; but from this perspective they have such a hard flat quality to them, because they're the backs of whatever they are. It's become one of the signatures of your rr shots, and it sets off the tracks too. The 2d variation is soaked in green-blues, and feels like a post apocalyptic scene, when most humans are gone. And it brings out the dissolving light against the trees in back---very intuitive. The 3d---I don't know anything about fractalius filters (Denise), except that a few artists here use the filters very well, and if you're one, you use them very effectively. But whatever you did, it's an outline treatment around the tracks, contrasted with waves-on-water treatment on the bottom. I love the stark white above all that wavy activity. And the last variation is more of your broken-fiberglass, that kind of wild tadpole treatment you use every so often, where the whole scene is dancing with electrical currents. And your colors are a great addition to it, because you have a rainbow of hues, and some very vivid pastel ones too...it's beautiful. Three very expressive variations, and ending in a street fest for the mind. Fine work, Harry, on all counts. (One of you most recent sets used pen and ink techniques extremely well, to where they looked like etchings. You have a wide berth of variations under your belt...)
