Description

"May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung And may you stay forever young" - Bob Dylan Taken on a hike at Larch Mountain above the Columbia River Gorge this past weekend. Oddly, there are no larch trees on Larch Mountain, though there are some beautiful hemlocks & firs that are hundreds of years old...

An illumined ladder of golds and blasting whites, and a criss cross of branches that make this a piece of stained glass, where the branches are the lead in between. The reds in the 'frame', and in the trunks left-of-center, are a warm contrast to those blasting yellows and golds. You're on a very intense roll these days, which is a lot considering the intense roll you're on, most days! Zoomed, this is a fairy tale image. Beautiful and fiery. (I always think, when I hear "larch," of that Monty Python bit of a slide that keeps interrupting the show: It's a tree and a droning voice that says, "Number 2: The Larch. The Larch. Number 2---the Larch..." They've ruined that tree for me forever.)
