Well my friend, this is interesting to see, and a fantastic photo too! I first thought it was a photo of another country because of the palm tree. I guess this will be a hotel or other guest-house.

Excellent shot of these artisans that are dying out, good to see some are still around, the only Thatcher I was glad to see the back of was that old witch in power Good riddance to that one:)

Oh, OK, by your title I thought it had something to do with your former prime minister. Glad to see someone still knows how to do this type of work. I love the look but I suppose it is quite a fire hazard.

Well, how good is that ? I would have loved to see this actually happening, it's quite an art - in my opinion and to think as good as roof-tiles, unbelievable ... lucky you, Jeff ;)) to see and experience this in a lifetime ... personally, I think, that those Palm trees actually give this a warm Southern European holiday feel to it, marvelous ! Thatched roof, only to be seen in the north of Germany, and that very rarely. Good that there are still people who can exercise this craft. Excellent and interesting shot Jeff.

Great capture. I saw some of those in Southern Ireland, palm tree included. So it must be pretty mild there. We used to have some of the old farm buildings with thatched roofs on the outskirts of Berlin, but they were replaced with tile. These thatch roofs are pretty expensive!
