Description
This morning, my father lost his fight with Parkinson's. He was at home, in bed with my mother and his wife of over 50 years, and went in his sleep.
He's in a better place now--no more wheelchair, unable to stand, dress, bathe--all of those mundane things we take for granted daily.
He's reunited with his parents and I am sure that is a joyful time.

I'm sorry for your loss. I went to my sister's funeral last week. She died after a long 5 year battle with dementia. Her death was a release.

Thanks to all for your kind words and thoughts. Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's about ten years ago, but really went downhill in the last two years. Made it tough with them being in Indiana and me in Seattle. Tougher on my younger siblings (who are still back in Indiana) and had toughest on my Mom, who had to deal with the good and bad days on a daily basis.
