Description

Took the Jeep in for paint. 12 yo, single stage factory paint was wearing thin in places. Five days after, a distracted Mom in a minivan failed to stop for traffic, nailing me and pushing the Honda into the cross-over in front of me. No one was hurt in the three vehicles (the Mom was a wreck--no pun intended), but the three kids thought it was great when the police and fire units showed up and they got firemen helmets and toys for their trouble. Should find out how bad the damage is on Monday (body shop is actually working. Preliminary surface estimate I had from the guys painting the Jeep was $6K USD, but further inspection by the guys doing the actual work stated the rear damage was more severe (as I suspected), so we'll see... So I'm currently stuck driving what the rental agency called an "SUV", but it is a Dodge Journey and the stupid thing is a fglorified minivan just without sliding doors.
