Description

as she burps! poser9 CRAP! finally got a reduced size render image on this one. read below.. had to take stuff out. this program kept giving multiple proplems on my third render i tried this image multiple times for rendering. the outfit set is super but it kills even my newer computer. i can only use two of the multiple goodies in this pkg for some reason. this one (poser 9 computer) is a pent 4 with 2.99 ghz and1.99 of ram, not sure how good that is. i can go up too 4 gigs at the max according to my friend who gave it to me. my other (p6) computer was 1.91 ghz and a 512 ram. and seemed to do a bit better. here are the multiple windows i kept getting during renders.. 1. can't load texture, Bad file. (even though it's there) 2. poser could not render, resource constraints, try reducing the output render resolution. typical maximum resolution may approach 20.000x20.000 3. out of memory, please save a copy of your work and quit soon. saving with a low memory may result in a truncanted or corrupt file. one below i have had on my p6 computer at times 4. there was a problem during render when using fireflu you can reduce rendering memory usage by rendering in a seperate process. rasing the adaption threshold (HUH?) and reducing bucket sizes, (shoot i have always left that at factory settings which is "32") what do all you p9 users or above use?? many thanks for stopping by for a peek and a read. enjoy the weekend. lol Steve i have only installed about ten cd's since i last mentioned how much i already have in. stopped right away after the above prob. will continue saturday. still have a month or so more for completion. Yes, the belt on that outfit is huge - looks cool but weighs a 'ton'. If you don't put the belt on you should be okay. I think the jacket is a bit large too, because of the buttons on it. Seems the jewelry is a little weighty too. Look at how many MBs the parts and pieces are in the Character Library when you go to load them and you'll see what I mean. By the time you load the model, the hair, and everything else, it all adds up. 1.99 of RAM does seem low but I couldn't tell you what would be a good RAM for your computer. I'll leave that to someone who knows better. It depends on how many GBs of RAM your pc has. If you have 8 you should be able to bump it up some more. What are your render dimensions and dpi, Steve? Looks huge from the zoom. Try 1000 square or 1200 square at 100 dpi. That might help. I is a great looking image though and wonderful color saturation! ;) Enjoy your weekend!

Very cool image Steve. I wish I could offer some advice as to help you, but I'm lost with Poser. one suggestion would to get a very good (large) external hard drive and load your data files on it and tell Poser where to find them. Good luck my friend and have a great weekend - ps Go Seahawks!

First of all, this render is really great!!! 5+++++ Full size is a must as the detail is perfect! My last upgrade for poser was 2012 and it will be last upgrade. I have tried to master poser since the beginning and just grew tired of getting the multiple warnings and crashes even though my PC and Mac are on the high end and can run any program. When I discovered DAZ 3D in 2012 I decided to give it a try since it was a "FREE" program and I have to say I love it. Since the last few updates I have had no issues and it works perfectly with all the great poser items from Renderosity. The only issue is with poser based light sets and just replaced them with DAZ and third party lighting. Any content you have in your poser "Runtime" can be added easily to DAZ and it functions well in the program. As a suggestion the one thing you may need to do with your new PC is upgrade the memory to 4 gigs as two gig I think is the minimum you can use with 9 Either way keep up the great work cause I look forward to seeing your renders!!!

Great render ! Without getting too technical, 2gig of physical ram is a wee bit low. The 3gig processor speed on the P4 is fine, but with such low physical ram, your pushing a lot onto the graphics chip. Does this new comp have a separate video card, or is it integrated to the motherboard ? if it's integrated, theres your bottleneck right there. The older machine you said ran faster (with less ram) may very well have had a dedicated video card, which takes a lot of the load off the processor. Just a trick, run defrag, turn off all programs running in the background, and re-boot before you decide to run a final render. Just rebooting will clear out the video cache, which gets all junked up every time you do a "test" render.

Excellent work despite the computer issues. Especially her expression turned out very nice. As mentioned above already, 2 GB RAM is not very much these days, I'd definitely upgrade to 4 if that's the max you can do.

Beautiful girl. Sorry to hear about the technical difficulties, definitely sounds like it's running out of RAM. Reducing the bucket size can definitely help - Poser is supposed to change this automatically if it detects there's not enough memory at the current setting, but it doesn't always work. Just set it to 16 or 8 and see if that makes a difference. Using ray-traced shadows for your lights instead of depth mapped ones can also help, since the depth maps eat up more memory. Also, if you haven't yet, update Poser 9 to the latest service release (SR3.2). In the long run I would try to upgrade to 4 GB of RAM if you have the chance, it will really make a difference.

Even with your problems of pc, you make a superb portrait; portrait of gluton woman loll I have Poser 10, ans only once a frozen problem for render; i don't know why, because i try the same dimensions and angle and the 'new' render was ok. I have 1,99 of ram too. And i use 72dpi or 96dpi for renders. You do others things in the same time on your pc? Or not incompatibility with other software? Have a good week-end!

Scary Lady! Very beautiful portrait! Very good work! As a DAZ User I can´t help with your problems. Don´t know what OS you are using. But keep in mind if you are upgrading your RAM, a 32bit OS can not really handle more then 3GB RAM.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with P9! I use it myself and the only problem I have (rare although) is the occasional crashing! Soon to be fixed with a larger hard drive. Anyway this is a fab piece! Well done!

P4s/P4HT's are ancient 8-10 years old (I know I had one a long time, good but old and slow) and 2Gig is minimum for runnining windows Vista or above(7,8,9,10) and a Render App. 32 bit platform 4 Gig is max usable RAM, 64bit platform 8Gig Max usable. Actual usable RAM actually depends on the operating system XP only needs about 500k to Run but Vista, Se7en, 8,9 etc a Gig or more so take that right off the top and that's approx how much Ram you have to dedicate to any single project. My puter is Core 2 Quad 64 bit platform Win7, I have 8 Gig of RAM but it depends on the Program I use how much Ram I can use, some are 32 bit programs some are 64bit. A 32 bit program max RAM accessible is 4 Gig but in all actuality the program can only use about 3 Gig, 64 bit is 8Gig and actual more like 6.5 Gig. So if you have 2 Gig(1.99) you really can only use about 1 Gig of RAM on a project, that's really not a lot. Peace

In spite of the technical problems you describe the render is great. That's a really cool character. My computer has 3 gig of RAM, I want to upgrade it someday, but I never do.

with a 32-bit operating system you can only use 4 gig, although windows will only be able to use 3072 kb.if you want go for 8 gig then you have to change your operating system to 64-bit. and it all depends on the motherboard how much ram it supports.with the pentium 4 mobos it was 4 to 8 gig the average mobo.
