A very interesting texture effect. It looks a little like artwork I've seen etched onto wood or leather. The feathers look especially detailed & appealing presented this way & the large patches of pure white are great compositional elements that balance out that detail. Fine creative work, Mark...

I can't imagine what he must think about all this cold stuff; don't emus live in Australia and Africa? Seems like they probably aren't built for snow, but what do I know? Fantastic treatment of this shot, it looks even colder, if that's possible. Maybe it's his eyelid, which makes him look like he's frozen solid! Great work, Mark!

The Australian emu, initially adapted to warmer weather, but now entrenched half frozen in the frigid tundra, stands thinking "I never signed up for this s--t! Get me outta here!" Fine POV and overall winter ambiance in this shot, Mark. Poor flightless avian.

Well, now I have seen everything !!! LOL - or not ! - our native animal lost it's way ??? Maybe he felt just a little bit too hot here, underneath that collar and thought a quick detour to cool off in cold Chicago and now he is stuck ! Please, send him back home, or just point him in the right direction - we do miss him, you know ? He looks just a mere ghost of himself, and please don't forget to feed him, he loves cracked corn and lettuce - OK - this will do for now ... oh, and one one more thing - he listens to 'Bruce' - in case you have to call him ;)) BB

Superbly done, the intense white sets the bird off perfectly.

Mark, this is truly an amazing capture that caught my eye the moment it popped on the screen. As pointed out already the texture effects here are wonderful.
