You caught this at a time that maximizes the effect of the shadows, Mark, creating fantastic snow textures. You also provide photographic proof here that snow isn't just white - it's also blue & yellow & gray (& maybe others?)...

So very BLUE! When I've done snow pics, the shadows have been purple. Like a cake.

Bubbling curds and whey in this top notch shot of what I assume is Lake Michigan, in a state of freeze-over. Beautiful bluish tint dominates the beautifully illuminated and textured snow cover, Mark, but that dark chasm looks most ominous, like a large knife slice in a large birthday cake, chocolate from the looks of it. Sterling stellar composition.

Mark this is another amazing capture and I have very much enjoyed the winter theme in this series of photographs you've posted recently. I'm not just saying that because it is in the 50s here, but because I genuinely do love winter photography. This rough and tumble looking area has a lot of character and a myriad of colors are on display throughout.

It looks like boiled frosting (the kind that church ladies are really good at!) What a gorgeous piece of dessert this is, for someone like me anyways! I'd like to just plop myself right down in the middle of it and play. Thanks for the winter fix, it's 66 degrees here today. Not even close to winter weather!

It is like some alien landscape, caught in turmoil, with the waves frozen in time.
