Description

Here's the totally untouched original of "Camel In the Snow," 2 uploads back. Just to show this is actually the way it came out. Some of my uploads are just experiments, exploring light, form, etc... Thanks again everyone Mark (Please zoom for details)

Wow Mark, thank you so much for sharing the original with us as I was curious as to see more of the details. The poor camel certainly does appear to be trying to make himself at home here, despite obviously not being accustomed to these wintery conditions.

I didn't quite know what to make of the first version - the shape of the head looked so strange & distorted. It makes sense now & yet the whiteness still has a strong abstract quality that is unique & appealing. I personally prefer this version, but I guess, like all such judgments, it's all in the eye (& mind) of the beholder...

Such an interesting capture, especially when you always associate a camel with heat and sand, never snow. In the winter, I watch the deer on my property dig their heads deep into the snow to find and eat the buried grass.

Well, he certainly has enough fur to keep him warm, I think and hope; but I do like your postworked version!

Ditto photosynthesis in his assessment. I'm glad I zoomed in for a closer scan of the color and textures of the two humped ungulate, seemingly appearing a bit inquisitive and nonplussed at the sight of snow. Both versions display deep contrast, with lots of negative space, and, the head does appear distorted at this angle.
