Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Ooh, the urban jumble! I really like the crop of this shot, as well as the fact that it's got such fun geometry going on. Tall buildings always seem to loom and lean when they're caught in a photo. It's like they're conspiring for only the most nefarious reasons. I also love that reflected building. Really nice. I like this!

Impressive and terrifying. I doubt I could last half a day in such a place, even as a sightseer!

Canyons of glass and steel. Not the town I once knew. Very impressive POV. Excellent capture.

Oh no, you stole my thunder with that old Petula Clark ditty. I was going to lead off my comment with the same thing. Otherwise, a terrific neck straining perspective in this glorious shot of the tall buildings, stretching far up into the firmament, Maz. Great contrast capture of the skyscrapers and their grid work windows. This is ultra cool.

A smashing capture of the visual collision of high rises in a great city. I never think of SF this way---I have the stereotyped notion of its hills and beautiful homes...but I know it has a high rise district, and this is a very striking shot of it. With angles and no real straight lines or grids (unlike Chicago, which is ALL straight lines and grids), it's more a huddle---like the highrises are all huddling together to take instructions. And fine shadow play and reflections too. And a clear sky above. Terrific urban work, and something we dont' see a lot of from you, since you're most often shooting vast beautiful nature, or people shots (city and no), or the more intimate human-scaled pieces of great cities. Well, you do sky scrapers very well! Love this shot. Fine seeing!
