The second in the series of Extreme Crops is this wild and huge Mexican Cactus Fly. Taken in June of 2012 at the Fullerton Arboretum. If you have ever seen one in person you know how big these guys are (about twice the size of a mature bottle fly). I don't see them often, but when I have I am rather intimidated by their size and sound of their flight.
I don't believe I ever posted one of this catch.
Tone-mapped and cropped tight (though they are big enough that they fill my lens when at 1:1, so not much crop).
