Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Now this is where I usually demonstrate how black my heart can be with stuff like, why didn't they crash this into a brick wall instead? I despair of the next generation, and I am sick to death of listening to these liberal minded pricks keep reminding us to save the world for the next generation, well F**K em is what I say, if they have no respect for my generation, then why should I reduce my quality of life for these piles of putrefaction? I will go on taking as much as I can, and if it means they are living with no lights and power, tough titty, light a candle.

Yes, a shame to see this eyesore. But I'm one of those "liberal minded pricks" who has a son & grandson who do have respect for other people & for the planet they live on & who therefore does give a damn about saving the world for the next generation...

Well I was having a pretty nice day until I saw this. No decent biker would ever torch their ride so I'm guessing it was stolen. If the owner finds out who it was someone is going to die. And about the "blown out" photo, it works. Something about high key and charred remains seem to go together. And since politics has been brought into this, I am also one of those Liberal 'pricks' because I know all of our freedoms come from Liberals. No disrespect meant but in 1776 the Liberals were in Boston and the Conservatives were in London (let's not get into how we colonials have mucked it up since then). As Crosby, Stills and Nash once sang, "Teach your children well." So if you don't like this generation look in the mirror.

the person who did this is, in my opinion, deserving a double tap to the head! There is NO excuse for this type of wanton destruction. Great capture

Awesome capture, I'll remain neutral in situations in which I do not know the whole story, things are sometimes not what they appear to be in life. As a previous post said this maybe a stolen bike for all we know, it's a pity the city will not clean it up like in the old days though...

Sad to see, but a wonderful photo, and I really like the "rescue" shot!

It is sad to see that and not an easy thing to bring home to be put in the trash!
