Description
PLEASE READ FIRST... How does an event in California USA, become one of the proudest days in the life of a Liverpool model maker ? As mentioned previously, a request, it came from Tommy Anderson. Tommy is the official photographer at The Planes of Fame in Chino California, he's also into rendering in his spare time. During the Winter TPoF have overhauled one of their P-51D's and re-painted it. It is now in the livery of the aircraft 'Bunny ' of Maj. Robert Friend ( Lt. during the war ) of the 332nd FG "The Tuskegee Airmen " and is a tribute to the group as well as the man. On 28th March 2015 the plane was unveiled before an invited audience, guest of honour...Maj Robert Friend, the date was no coincidence it was Maj. Friend's 95th Birthday. The reason for Tommy's request, he produced a profile image of 'Bunny' to present to Maj. Friend to commemorate the occasion. My model....my paintjob....I couldn't dream of something so amazing! I got up this morning to find an e-mail from Tommy and news that just melted my brain, by way of a thank you, I'd sent Tommy a render of 'Bunny' flying over a stream of B-24's.....he liked that so much, he had it printed up and presented that to Maj. Friend on my behalf.....So, proud?...absolutely blown away, I can't thank Tommy enough for including me in this amazing event...truly once in a lifetime.
In the photos, Maj. Friend on the left, Tommy Anderson on the right...and Bunny extreme right awaiting her unveiling..
My autograph is now available by post @ $100 a 'pop'... :-)

WOW doesn't begin to cover this. I teared up when I told my husband the story. Pat yourself on the back for me and maybe throw in a hug or two. The art work is fabulous and the reason for it amazing.
