Description

In honor of all things Irish this month.... She's also known as 'Scota', or possibly 'Skytha'. She lived in the Fortress of Shadows on the Isle of Skye, which lies off the coast of Scotland (Alba). There, she teaches the Irish hero Cu Chulain to be a fearsome warrior. Thanks for looking and for your comments! Will try to get by this weekend and catch up a bit :* Mostly I wanted to post this to show off some pretty cool brushes and backs I recently got. They are all very, very nice. The brushes are lovely, and the backs are beautifully done. A little 'appreciation' to patslash and Art of Dreams! The girly is one of mine.

Wow, that is phenomenal. A great example of mixed media, the poser character, not only incredibly beautiful, is so perfectly integrated into the image. There is such a complexity of layers and painting, and yet it all seems necessary - it is rich but not cluttered. I love the way Scota boldly captures your gave and directs you to her castle. She has a "come follow me" look about her. I like the way you have restricted the sparkle magic to her area and have gone with a deep grunge to the backdrop, clearly separating the complex layers. I have been to Skye and I know why it is so appealing to fairies. I will show you later today a place I think she would be happy to dwell.

That 'thud' you just heard was my jaw hitting the table...... Holy WOW - this is gorgeous, Ray! You've taken all these elements, tied them together, and created a masterwork, my friend! This rocks!

Gorgeous art work. I agree that your BG and brushes have certainly added to this scene. Beautifully done and an interesting character that I'm not familiar with. Being on Skye I wonder if she offered up some secrets on the magical elixir produced there. A smokey, malty, burning elixir that could only be made by the spirits. ;)
