Description

I've been learning Project Dogwaffle's "PD Artist" which they gave me to review. It is a kind of pared down (and cheaper) version of "PD Howler". If you're not familiar with this art software, it creates terrains from gradient maps and plasma noise. Then you can paint on them. You can use it as an addendum to Photoshop or your other favorite art programs. You can also export your created terrain as an .obj file. It's got somewhat of a learning curve and there's lots there to figure out. Anyway, I painted this background in PD Artist. Then, I rendered my character and put it all together in PShop. Yes, it's been Photoshopped! ;-p I know a few of my friends are familiar with it and have Howler...which I also have. It's very fun to play with and you can make your own gradient maps by gray-scaling any brush image or regular image in your primary art program, then opening it in PD Artist and going to town with it. It will always be different! ***** Model is SRG_Scaitha (WIP) in her SSS skin Outfit is Xurge3D - Amazon for V4 (textured by me).

You're explanation sounded to me like when Scotty tells Kirk what's wrong with the ship and the Captain just kinda stares at him for a moment then goes "Okay!" :) However, my ignorance doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the image for what it is - which is excellent. It makes me think of the song "Rose of Shayrn" by Killswitch Engage: Numb and broken, here I stand alone Wondering what were the last words I said to you Hoping, praying that I'll find a way to turn back time Can I turn back time? What would I give to behold The smile, the face of love? You never left me The rising sun will always speak your name Numb and broken, here I stand alone Wondering what were the last words I said to you It won't be long, we'll meet again What would I give to behold The smile, the face of love? You never left me The rising sun will always speak your name It won't be long, we'll meet again Your memory is never passing It won't be long, we'll meet again My love for you is everlasting I mourn for those who never knew you [x2] It won't be long, we'll meet again Your memory is never passing It won't be long, we'll meet again My love for you is everlasting

Holy frack, Ray! This is exquisite! A most lovely piece of art you've put together here.... Wow! OK - just be sure to keep notes, my friend...... I won a copy of Howler some time ago over at FA. Haven't even cracked it open, yet.. But from what I see here, I need to delve into it - along with all the other stuff I'm trying to learn... I may be bugging you for a tutorial! LOL Awesome work!
