Description

Hi dear Friends, Karel and I walked our street downhill, and halfway through I saw the Sweikhuizen church reflected in a surprising way in this Volvo. I think it's nice to note that this church is named after St. Odilia, the patron saint of the blind. Since 1851 Sweikhuizen has a Odilia Devotion. Originally worshiped Odilia of Cologne, and later there was a confusion with Odile of Alsace. Both Odilia's, patronesses of the blind, has the church relics. Since 1929 every year (the for last Saturday and last Sunday of June) blind pilgrimages held with the participation from all over the Netherlands in Sweikhuizen In a way, I remembered that the blind procession is held here every year . Because these people can't see a reflection, and upon seeing this, I'm so sorry realizing this. If you want to see the whole church of Sweikhuizen, you can click this : https://ptssgroeiproces.wordpress.com/category/fotos/page/4/ You have to scroll downwards, and above the windmill there is a photo from this church (of the front) (it's my blog) You can also click this one, that's about St. Odilia & Sweikhuizen, Church. http://www.plaatsengids.nl/bezienswaardigheid/sweikhuizen/kerk-van-st-dionysius-en-st-odilia Thank you very much for your visit, love you all.

Outstanding timing, great catch of the church reflections Mies. Awesome realization and perception of your thoughts to your picture and story behind the name of the Church and how it is honored. Thanks for sharing Mies.

I like your reflection photo and I looked at both links. This church has been there since 1739. So beautiful. Ik hou van je spiegelbeeld foto en ik keek naar beide banden. Deze kerk heeft daar sinds 1739. Zo mooi geweest.
