Description

Hello All! This is another shot taken at a local woodland (about two miles from home) named Judy Woods during the first week of February this year. The stream is called Royds Hall Beck and takes its name from the Royds Hall manor house further upstream. Judy Woods is a complex of woodlands near Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Individual woodlands in the complex include Jagger Park Wood, Royds Hall Great Wood, Old Hanna Wood, Doctor Wood and Low Wood. The name comes from Judy North, also know locally as "Gurt Judy", who lived in a cottage situated within the woods near Horse Close Bridge in the 1850s and 60s. It is claimed that the whole area was once covered in trees and part of Bryanscholes Forest which itself was part of a forest extending as far as, and including, the world famous Sherwood Forest. I have used 3 differently blended exposures of the same RAW file in this image as well as a touch of dodge and burn and a slight saturation boost.
