Description
Setanta...better known as 'Cu Chulainn', the legendary hero of Ireland and reputed as well to have trained on the Isle of Skye under the tutelage of the famous warrior-witch known as 'Scatach' or 'Scaitha'. If her castle, Dun Scaith - the "Fortress of Shadows - was indeed owned by the McLeod clan, she may have possibly been one of them. I also suspect from the stories told of him in his 'battle madness' that he and the later 'Fianna Warriors' were trained in the Nordic *berserkr* or *ulfhednar* styles. Given that many Norse 'berserker' warriors were deemed *utlaugh* or outlaws and banished from their lands, chances are, they likely went West, as adventurous young men often do. The stories told of them and how their appearance changed during their battle-rages, and how no one was safe from their weapons...friend or foe, is also indicative of this. Not to mention, Setanta was given the title, "The Hound of Cullen".
My morph and we borrowed SRG_Bleid's skin for this and added a little painting. Also took it into Project Dogwaffle's "PD Artist" and did a few little things in there with it. Very subtle things.
So, this continues my little St. Patrick's Day/Month fun :-p I think I might keep him. Yup.

Battle rage is a scary thing. The red mist descends and you just attack what is in front of you. Allies just stay clear. A great image here! I believe he was the basis for the character Slaine MacRoth in 2000AD comics. He would channel the power of the Earth Goddess and experience warp spasms.

I do think you're right about him being the inspiration for Slaine, Alex. Many of the characters are a lot the same and with Cu Chulainn, as is Slaine himself. I like Slaine, too. ;)
