Description
I have no idea who these people are - I just liked how big they made this rock look by standing on it. This was taken on one of the many trails along the Columbia River Gorge...

What a lovely image and a super zoom. This would fit in well with the March challenge on 'green'.

Magnificent size relationship, colors, contrast and textures revealed in this outstanding capture of the Lilliputians atop the behemoth rock, amidst its environs.

That is the mother of all boulders, what good fortune to get this shot with the people on it--you are right, they give it scale. Fantastic shot, the clarity and lighting are marvelous!

In zoom, this really hits in a wave. (And I'm happy to see it has that many zooms.) Your composition, lighting, texturing and capture of the magic feel of the place are all marvelous. And the concept of those people atop that big boulder is terrific. They're 'composed' (your pov) in sync with the waterfall behind them; and the blast of light on the edge of the boulder is terrific. That light is continued on the right, like a cascade. With contrasting deep darks behind the people, and rich greens on the bottom. Even the angled line on the left bottom contrasts well with the other lines in the piece. (Linear-ly, this is so rich.) Hue and texture wise, it's downright opulent. In fact, the people only crown it all, giving perspective and scale. But they're key---they're smiling, and add real joy to the image. Terrific on many levels---normally a big sheared side of a boulder wouldn't make a great shot; but in this composition, it's the pivot for a masterful image. Terrific Claude. You're on a roll, and they just keep coming. (And by the way, I NEVER knew that "stamina" was plural to anything! Fascinating how its meaning derived from stamen...)
